Front Cover Photo's
Here is four photos which I took of my model to be my front cover. On all of the four photo's of Evan (my model) I left room at the top of the photo to allow space for a masthead to be placed. In the end, I chose the the second picture to be my front cover. This is because Evan is in a stance in which he looks like he is actually playing the guitar, where as on picture's one and four he is just stood still holding the guitar. In addition to this, picture two is more detailed and zoomed in than picture three, so I believe this would appeal to the audience more.

Social Class and Demographics
I will be aiming to see my magazine R&R, which stands as a short for Rock and Roll to young teenagers towards young adults. I would say that my age target will be from the age of 14-30 years old. This is because I would say that 14 is the age in which kids start to listen to music more and also they decide specific music what they like. I have ended my age category because I feel that at the age of 30 people will still have a strong feeling towards Rock and Roll. In addition to this, I feel that after the age of 30, even though people will still like Rock and Roll, I believe that they won't read magazine no more because they have more important things such as working and spending time with their family. Because I have aimed my magazine at a young category, I believe that if I placed my magazine at a high price not a lot of people would buy it because they won't be gaining much income at such a young age, and when they do gain money they will tend to spend it on other things. Therefore, I believe I will price my magazine at around about £1.99 because that way my magazine won't be very expensive, and more importantly it will allow more youngsters to purchase the magazine. In terms of gender, even though more men like Rock music, I am going to aim my magazine at both male and female's. This is because some girl's still like listening to rock music therefore by aiming the magazine towards female's as well as males, I will get a higher profit as more people will buy my magazine. However, this means that I will need to be careful because by aiming the magazine at male's and female's, I will need to make sure there are no sexist comments what will offend either gender in the magazine.
This is the Social Class Table, which will give me a better idea of what majoritites and percentages of class my magazine will be aimed at, and who the target audience is. I am aiming my magazine at class E students because this category is aimed at people who are still in Education and my magazine is aimed at ages between the age of 14 and 25 years. However, some people between these ages will be working so this means they will be a higher class, probably a D or a C2. Therefore, this means I cannot aim my magazine's to one particular class because by doing this, I won't get as many people buying the magazine because there is more than one social class category what I am aiming my magazine to.

Props
Firstly, the main thing regarding Rock and Roll is the music. The main musical instrument's which are used are guitars and drums. Therefore, when taking photos these will need to be included to appeal to the customers and to make my magazine realistic to the genre. In terms of clothing, it would be preferable that the people I will be using to get photos are wearing black clothing because in my opinion this is a colour which is related to Rock and Roll.

Contents Page for a Music Magazine
This is an example of a contents page for a music magazine. I think the layout of this is very good because the page is set out in a very good layout in my opinion. This is because everything is set out well and different conventions are set out separately on the page. The things which I like about this contents page is the fact that everything revolves around the main image and also the small photos which link with the featured stories because it will attract the audience. Moreover, it is an easier way to show what is going to be included in the magazine and it will make the featured stories easier to understand by applying small pictures to the reltaed page numbers.
Firstly, at the top left hand side of the page, it shows the date in which the magazine is published and also it shows that the page is a contents page by applying it in white bold writing so it stands out. Below this is the title or the masthead, this is also used in bold writing to show the name of the magazine but also to imply that the majority of the magazine will be about drums. In addition to this, the main image which is centred in the middle of the page also implies that the article is going to be about drums. One of the main things I like about this page is the fact that there are little pictures used at the corners on the right hand side of the page to match the featured stories which are on the left hand side. By applying these pictures it will give the readers a better idea of what will be featured in the article. Another convention which is included is page numbers, this is so it is easier for the readers to find particular sections they are interested in. A way to improve this contents page could be by adding previous additions to show what was in the last magazine incase readers didn't read it. Featured stories and Regulars are also conventions which are located on the left hand side of the page, however they are both described in different amounts of detail. The featured stories is a big section of the page and is explained in more detail, however the regular Stories is located at the bottom of the page and requires little detail. This is done like this because more focus needs to be applied on Featured Stories because it is only going to be in one magazine. However, the regulars will be included in every magazine so you won't need to explain them as much.

Audience Research
Why do music magazines do research? Music magazines do research on lots of different things. They do research on things such as their audience type. The audience type consists of a lot of things such as what gender they want to aim there magazine at and also what age do they want to aim it at. They do research on this so that more people buy their magazine and that it becomes known popular and worldwide. By doing research it allows the magazine to be bought by more people and allows the maker of the magazine to get a bigger profit. This is because if you work out which age group and which gender likes each different of genre then they will like the magazine and buy it. However, if you don't research the audience properly the public won't be interested in the magazine and therefore won't buy the magazine. If you made a magazine based on Rave music and you aimed to sell it at women who are old you won't get many people buying it because old women won't be interested in this genre of music. However, if you sold this Rave magazine to young boys the maker of the magazine will gain more money as this type of audience is the type which is likely to buy the magazine. Therefore, you could also say that when thinking about what type of audience you are selling your magazine to it requires common sense too.

Rock and Roll research
Rock and Roll is a genre of music which was originated and evolved in the United States in the 1940's to the 1950's. It has a mixture of African American genres such as blues, jump blues, jazz and gospel together with Western swing and country music. This music has developed from Rock and Roll in the 1950's to now becoming popularly known as Rock Music. A lot has changed within this genre over the last 50 to 60 years. One example of this change is that a piano or saxophone was often the lead instrument. However, now a days the main instruments are drums or guitars. This consists of two electrical guitars one which is rhythm and one which is lead, below is a photo/ example of a classical rock band.
Unfortunately, some people argue that there has been a decline in Rock music over the years and this has been influenced by the amount of deaths that have sadly occured to famous Rock artists. Famous Rock singers such as Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, Ritchie Valens had all died by the 1960's and this is when people believe the genre started to decline. Also, Rock and Roll declined when Elvis sadly passed away, because he was popluar for both his music and his looks.
The term rock and roll now has two meanings: referring to the first wave of music that originated in the US in the 1950's and developed into "rock music." In the late 1940's to 1950's either piano or saxophone tended to be the lead instruments used, now a days however Classical Rock and Roll is usually played with one or two electric guitars: one lead and one rhythm, a string bass or an electric base guitar and also a drum kit. As seen by the media in movies and television Rock and Roll has influenced a lot of people's lifestyles. These factors include things such as fashions, attitudes and language. The term 'rocking and rolling' used to be often described the movement of a ship on the ocean, however in the earlier 20th century it is used to descrbie people's movement towards the music of Rock and Roll.

Test Shots
This is a photo of a One 2 Shot, as by the name this is a shot of 2 people, however Tom's pose isn't very good.
This is a long shot of Tom, by doing this it allows people to view his whole body.
This is a medium close up of Tom, this shot is used to show more detail of his upper body, in particular his face. This shot type usually captures from the waist up to your head.
This is another medium close up of Tom, however unfortunately the framing is poor. As you can see there is equipment in the background which shouldn't be there. Moreover, the background colour's are multi coloured which wouldn't look good as a magazine front cover.
This is a pose shot of Tom, I believe this could be made better however if he was more central. But by leaving a gap on the right hand side it would allow me to put sell lines there.
This is a group shot of my media classmates including props. I don't think this is a good photo because the framing is bad, there is a light used what you can see in the photo and moreover, the photo looks poor regarding quality.
